When Beauty Wore Polka Dots,2025

Botticelli imagined Venus as the embodiment of purity, divine femininity, and love. She emerged from the sea as a symbol of artistic awakening, bridging the divine and the earthly. In my world, Minnie Mouse holds that role, not born of myth, but of media. Still, her presence feels just as iconic, adored, and universal. I placed her at the center to reframe beauty through a pop-cultural lens. Around her are Keith Haring-inspired figures, symbols of movement and collective joy. His visual language has always felt bold and emotionally direct, a perfect link between classical and contemporary iconography. This was also the first time I used glitter, not for decoration but for meaning. The roses shimmer with memory, turning childhood nostalgia into something sacred. This piece is where femininity, symbolism, and pop memory all meet for me.
